9am till dark
 
Join The Shelter in celebrating Domestic Violence Awareness
Month.  We are asking individuals and businesses to show your support in ending Domestic Violence by placing purple decorations and ribbons in your windows and on your doors through the month of October.  The Shelter Inc. will be selling purple bows for $5.00 or you may use your own décor!
 
Events will include Walk to Town in Her Shoes Walk-A-Thon!
 
Men Women and children are encouraged to walk!
Walk-A-Thon Begins at 9:00 am in front of the City Administration Building, which then proceeds down Gaines around the square.  Walkers may walk for the Registration fee alone, but are encouraged to try and raise $50.00 or more through sponsors.
 
A single registration fee is $20.00.  Teams of 4 is $15.00 each, Teams of 5 or more pay $12.00 each.  This fee includes a T-shirt and goody bag.  Prizes will be given to The first walker to cross the line, Team/individual that raises the most money, and several of the next finishers.
Must register by September 30th to guarantee a T-shirt!
 
We are encouraging ALL men to Step into and Walk to Town in a Woman's Shoes.
Everyone must wear shoes decorated in a "feminine" style to raise awareness for ending violence against women if you wish to be considered for a prize in the Best Decorated Show Contest.
(A Pair of New Balance Shoes donated from Moores will be given as the first place prize in this contest only.) If you choose not to participate in this contest you are welcome to wear any shoes. The first man to cross the finish line during the walk in a pair of high heels will win a gas grill.
 
You may print the form posted below or pick up a form from 3C's Boutique, 317 Geri st or at the F.E.R.N. building, 201 W Gaines st, both located in Lawrenceburg, TN. Forms can be obtained by calling 766-0795

  • Poster contest (10am)
  • Clowns(9-12pm)
  • Vendors (all day)
  • Best baked pie contest (11-12pm)
  • Pie eating contest (12-1pm)
  • Sack race (2-3pm)
  • Family/pet photo booth
  • Entertainment/bands (begins at 1 pm)
  • Carnival games & prizes (all day)
  • Family Fun for ALL!!!

Purple Ribbons will be sold for $1.00 to be placed on the rememberance tree.

Come on down to the Lawrenceburg Square to enjoy the fun and participate in the contests. There will be First through Third place prizes given in all contests. These prizes have been donated by local area merchants.
