Is a Non Profit Organization
 
Our goal is to help victims of domestic violence and people who care become agents of change.
  • By offering a 24-hour crisis hot line every day of the year. Trained staff and volunteers let women know that someone understands and cares;
  • Free, comfortable, safe emergency shelter for battered women and their children;
  • A network of community services and referrals including transportation, legal advocacy, social services, educational opprotunities;
  • Support group counseling and individual assesment and planning for survivors and family futures;
  • Expert training, advice and resources for volunteers, individuals, churches, businesses and other organizations who would like to help create safer communities.
  • Legal Advocates assist victims of Domestic Violence who have cases in either criminal or civil court. The Legal Advocates serve individuals who are considering their legal options by providing support and information about the legal system. They can help you understand legal terms within the Judicial System.
  • Legal Advocates are there to assist victims in obtaining petitions for civil relief and orders of protection. They help the victim to understand the legalities of these orders and support them during the court procedure.They can provide assistance in finding an attorney that is knowledgeable in the dynamics of Domestic Violence.
  • Legal Advocates DO appear in court with the victim,at no cost. You do not need to be a resident of The Shelter Inc. to recieve legal advocacy.
  • Parenting classes are offered to all in house clients.
  • Batterers Intervention Classess
